What's the word on him looking for a new job? It sounded like that was kind of in the cards anyway? That would eliminate any anxiety over HR or work problems. Seems like a no brainer at this point.
As far as her threatening self harm goes, that seems like sheer manipulation to me, and also, too bad. Not your monkeys and not your circus. Not to mention she's supposed to be blocked, right?
I think he needs to be on the hunt for a new job asap.
